The evolution of 4IT Solutions Sagl into Var Group Suisse SA, part of Sesa S.p.A., listed on the STAR segment of Euronext Milan, has now been completed. The official announcement was made in Lugano during the third edition of Connect. This milestone further strengthens both the local organisation and Var Group’s presence in Switzerland, reinforcing the company’s positioning in Ticino as an end-to-end provider of IT, digital and cyber security services.

 

Lugano, Friday 22 May 2026 | The third edition of Connect took place yesterday, the annual conference organised by 4IT Solutions Sagl, a company founded in Gravesano in 2008 by Sladjana Timotijevic and Mishel Borcic and now part of the multinational Var Group under the name Var Group Suisse SA. Connect26 marked the official moment to announce the consolidation of the strategic alliance between 4IT Solutions and Var Group, representing a significant milestone in the journey initiated with the business combination announced last November.

 

This step further solidifies Var Group’s presence in Switzerland and strengthens its positioning as an end-to-end provider of IT, digital and cyber security services across the national market. The deep understanding of the local market and customer proximity built by 4IT Solutions over nearly twenty years are now combined with the international network, investment capacity and specialised competence centres of the Group.

 

“This new phase represents an evolution, not a discontinuity,” state Sladjana Timotijevic and Mishel Borcic, founders of 4IT Solutions 18 years ago. “Our values, our closeness to customers and our focus on quality remain unchanged. At the same time, being part of Var Group will allow us to support companies in an even more comprehensive and sustainable way.”

The operation is part of Var Group’s broader expansion strategy and confirms its long-term commitment to the Swiss market. From today, the teams will work alongside businesses and public institutions across the country to support their digital transformation journeys.

 

Connect26 at a glance

Confirming the central role of the event within the Ticino IT community was the strong participation, with attendance reaching nearly 200 people, marking a 40% increase compared to the 130 guests registered last year. The event was hosted by RSI – Radiotelevisione svizzera journalist and presenter Julie Arlin, a well-known face in the Ticino media landscape and moderator of corporate events for many years.

During the first part of the afternoon, former Olympic champion Jury Chechi, known as the “Lord of the Rings”, shared a personal testimony on the value of determination and resilience when facing change, drawing parallels between his sporting journey and the challenges companies encounter during transformation processes.

This was followed by technology-focused sessions featuring speakers from iSquared (Edoardo Degli Innocenti), Dell Technologies (Esteban Diaz), Oracle (Lanfranco Brasca), Microsoft (Stefano Ceruti) and Sunrise (Carlo Secchi), providing a broad overview of the key levers available to organisations today: from the organisational and cultural foundations required for a conscious adoption of artificial intelligence, to the orchestration of network, cloud and security within an integrated ecosystem.

To conclude the day, guests experienced a digital art performance by Antonio Barbieri — a Lombardy-based artist born in 1985, active in the exploration of hybridisation between natural forms and generative technologies through datasets, 3D scans and algorithms — created in collaboration with Var Digital Art by Var Group, based on the words selected by the guests attending the event.
